The official framework, applied as it stands.
SkoolMob applies the MINESEC rules without reinterpreting them.
This page details secondary education: sequences, COTE and coefficients. Nursery and primary are supported with their own cycle and scale.
A single scale out of 20.
All grades are out of 20, across all three subsystems. The subsystem determines only how the qualitative result is displayed and the default interface language, never the scale.
A bilingual school runs both subsystems in parallel: each class is resolved in its own format.
Seven levels, absolute thresholds out of 20.
The COTE is a qualitative judgement computed from the average out of 20, using absolute thresholds independent of the class level.
| COTE | Range /20 | Label |
|---|---|---|
| A+ | 18.00 – 20.00 | Excellent |
| A | 16.00 – 17.99 | Very Good |
| B+ | 14.00 – 15.99 | Good |
| B | 12.00 – 13.99 | Fairly Good |
| C+ | 10.00 – 11.99 | Pass |
| C | 08.00 – 09.99 | Insufficient |
| D | 00.00 – 07.99 | Poor |
C+ is the last passing threshold: below 10, automatic promotion is not granted.
Weighted averages by coefficient.
The general average is the sum of subject averages multiplied by their coefficient, divided by the sum of the coefficients. The coefficient is attached to the subject at class level and varies by stream.
Sequences and terms.
The school year has 3 terms and 6 sequences, two sequences per term. The term average is the average of the term's two sequences. The reference report card is termly; a sequence sheet exists for internal follow-up.
Rank, remarks, collegial decisions.
Rank is computed automatically from the general averages. Remarks and the Honour Roll mention are decisions of the class council and are never derived from an automatic threshold.
SkoolMob suggests APC competency levels (CTBA, CBA, CA, CMA, CNA) from the average; the final decision rests with the council.
Francophone and anglophone, side by side.
The scale out of 20 is identical. Only the display of the qualitative result and the default interface language differ.
| Subsystem | Display format | Default language |
|---|---|---|
| Francophone | COTE (A+, A, B+, B, C+, C, D) | Français |
| Anglophone | Letter grade (A, B, C, D, F) | English |
| Bilingual | Resolved per class | School default, editable |
A unique QR per bulletin, verifiable online.
Every report card published by SkoolMob carries a unique QR code in its footer. Scanning it opens verify.skoolmob.com and confirms the authenticity of the document within seconds.
What the verification confirms
- The school that issued the report card.
- The student concerned, by name and internal registration number.
- The official period, term and school year.
- The key results (general average, rank, cote), exactly as printed.
Who benefits
- MINESEC services, to tell an authentic report card from an altered copy.
- Universities and competitive entrance boards, to authenticate a school record.
- Employers, to verify a certificate of schooling.
- Parents themselves, to confirm the origin of a document they receive.
The verification page exposes no information beyond what the printed document already contains.
