The product
Does SkoolMob follow the MINESEC format?
Yes. Grades out of 20, COTE, averages weighted by coefficient, rank, remarks and class council signatures. The reference report card is termly: 3 terms and 6 sequences per school year.
Does it handle the anglophone subsystem?
Yes. Francophone, anglophone and bilingual are all supported. The scale out of 20 is identical in all three cases; only the qualitative display (COTE or letter grade) and the default language change. In a bilingual school the format is resolved class by class.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. Grade entry works offline: each grade is stored on the device, flagged as pending, then synchronised automatically when the network returns. Already-downloaded report cards, received announcements and grade sheets remain available offline.
Do I need a computer to use SkoolMob?
No. SkoolMob is an Android application. A phone is enough for the whole chain, from grade entry to the publication of report cards.
Is there a version for nursery and primary schools?
Yes. SkoolMob covers all three cycles. Secondary has the full MINESEC catalogue; nursery and primary are supported with their own cycle and scale, and their catalogue grows from the feedback of schools using it.
Pricing and commitment
How much does SkoolMob cost?
Pricing is quoted after a demonstration. It depends on the number of enrolled students and the scope agreed. Schools joining the pilot programme keep their entry price at subsequent renewals.
Does our data remain the school's property?
Yes. The school is the data controller in the legal sense and SkoolMob acts as processor. At the end of the contract, a full data export is provided at no extra cost.
What happens if our school ends its subscription?
Access to new entries is suspended at the term date. Report cards already published stay downloadable during the grace period set out in the contract, and a full export is provided for archiving.
Does SkoolMob collect tuition fees on behalf of the school?
No. The money is paid to the school, at its own cash desk, and never passes through SkoolMob. SkoolMob runs that desk: every payment produces a numbered receipt and an SMS to the parent with the balance left, and the cash book and arrears are followed on a phone.
Deployment
Can I import my students from an Excel file?
Yes. An Excel template downloads from the application. The batch import creates the enrolments in the target class and assigns internal registration numbers automatically.
How long does it take to train the teachers?
About thirty minutes of hands-on time is enough for a teacher to handle grade entry. Onboarding support includes on-site training for the administrative team.
The life of a report card
How do parents access their child's report card?
Each parent installs the application and links to the student with a printed invitation code issued by the school. When a report card is published they receive a notification in the app, or an SMS if they are not equipped.
Is the PDF report card verifiable by the authorities?
Yes. Every published report card carries a unique QR code in its footer. Scanning it opens verify.skoolmob.com and confirms the issuing school, the student and the period. The page can be used by MINESEC services, universities and employers.
